DrLappyFix Data Handling Policy
Effective date: July 4, 2026. The goal is simple: use the least access necessary to complete the job responsibly.
General approach
DrLappyFix should avoid opening, copying, or reviewing personal files unless it is required for the approved work or the customer specifically asks for data-related service.
Passwords and device access
If a device password is needed for testing, the customer should be informed. Passwords should be used only for the approved service purpose and should not be retained longer than necessary.
Storage devices and data recovery
When the service involves drives, SSDs, memory cards, or data recovery, DrLappyFix may need deeper access to inspect health, test readability, clone a drive, or recover requested data. In such cases, customers should clearly state any sensitive-data handling requirements before work begins.
Customer responsibility
- Back up important files before service where possible.
- Remove or sign out of accounts if requested and safe to do so.
- Tell DrLappyFix in advance if the device contains sensitive or regulated information.
After service
Temporary service notes, copied installation files, or transferred data created only for the repair process should be removed when no longer needed, unless the customer requests otherwise or law requires retention.
